The ad proved to be successful with its audience on Facebook. 212 Degrees Fahrenheit addressed feedback well and delivered a high-quality visual. Customers can expect professionalism and experience from their team.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the general manager of Healing Exercise. We produce therapeutic exercise programs for seniors and the infirmed, distributing them through DVDs and digital downloads.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

We contracted 212 Degrees Fahrenheit to create a new TV advertisement for our company.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a video that would help us increase sales.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had produced another short promotional video through a different vendor, but it didn’t work well for TV. Our media buyer recommended switching to 212 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

At the outset, the team conducted an assessment of our original ad to understand why it didn’t work. They wrote an entirely new script using language that we provided and then chose participants accordingly. They included multiple shots from the first video, but for the most part, they went in an entirely different direction with their version.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We approached this project in a hands-off manner and let 212 Degrees Fahrenheit guide the entire process. They did run the script by our team and present us with participants for the shoots, but we were glad we left final decisions up to them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After they completed the video, we tested it by running it on Facebook. The piece was very engaging and successful in attracting new customers. We are in the process of putting the ad through DRTV media testing.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

212 Degrees Fahrenheit was able to complete the majority of the project without much input from our end. They were very responsive to the language changes we made to the script.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The difference between the production value and messaging of our first video and the one created by 212 Degrees Fahrenheit is shocking. Though the quality of their production was extremely high, we are most impressed with the fact that the video sells our products well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can’t identify any areas of improvement. 212 Degrees Fahrenheit did an amazing job.

212 Degrees Fahrenheit’s videos earned positive feedback internally and externally. The team’s clear communication and strong project management helped expedite delivery.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I was a former producer at an advertising agency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

At the time, we were working with a client who wanted to leverage a celebrity relationship to generate leads. The client needed a standard video package, which included video content, television commercials, and traditional print assets. We turned to 212 Degrees Fahrenheit to handle the production and post-production.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They produced eight short videos for social media and paid advertising as well as some television commercials and multiple web videos. Additionally, they created generic still assets for print.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact was their producer who was also the director and proprietor of the company. The filming crew varied per project, but, on average, we had about 25–30 people. On the post-production side, they partnered with an external company.

How did you come to work with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

My former boss recommended them to me. He hadn’t worked with them but showed me their portfolio. I was impressed with their work, so I cold called them.

What is the status of this engagement?

June to October of 2015

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Both the client and my team were pleased with their work.

How did 212 Degrees Fahrenheit perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to complete a large-scale project that involved multiple people within a short period of time. They had to deal with a lot of military relationships specifically, and, overall, they handled them well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated the open lines of communication and directness. Because I was also a producer, I connected with the proprietor since we spoke the same language.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very open and transparent and allocate as much time as possible to the preparation phase.

Feedback summary:

On one project, 212 Degrees’ advertisement videos exceeded third-party expectations in terms of reducing cost per customer acquisition rates. They seamlessly managed an intense workflow through a management portal containing documentation and all video pieces for each project.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I was the vice president and co-owner of Cesari Direct. We specialized in the production of brand response promotional campaigns. After rebranding to Cesari Media, we sold the company near the end of 2016.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

We were looking for a partner agency to help with the production of a couple of different video campaigns for our end-clients. We needed a team with an appropriate set of skills to help create their desired visions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our end-clients required integrated promotional campaigns that included online and offline video advertisements to drive viewers to the company’s website or app. 212 Degrees worked on two of these major campaigns and produced dozens of video segments motivating the audience to take a direct and active response after viewing. Each piece was edited to fit a 15-30 second spot. As part of their contract, the 212 Degrees team provided scriptwriting and storyboarding services for each advertisement. The videos included a mix of live action content and animated graphics to explain any complex processes in a clear and consistent manner. In addition, 212 Degrees helped with procuring talent and post-production work under the guidance of our in-house directors.

What is the team composition?

212 Degrees scaled the team according to the needs of each project. We generally worked closely with the founder, but the number of additional representatives varied anywhere from one to a dozen other colleagues.

How did you come to work with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

I met the founder at a direct marketing trade show and we continued to keep in touch. He had made it clear that he would like to collaborate at our convenience. When the need to outsource arose, we reached out and everything fell into place.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $500,000—$1 million over the course of the engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2015—October 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

An end-client was measuring our performance based on our ability to reduce their cost per customer acquisition. With 212 Degrees’ help, we greatly exceeded the established target and their marketing director was absolutely thrilled.

How did 212 Degrees Fahrenheit perform from a project management standpoint?

They were extremely approachable and relatable throughout the partnership. Our account manager worked to maintain a seamless workflow through their web-based management portal. The team shared all production documentation, rough cuts, and time cuts via the portal for both our and the end-client’s review.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The founder is very skilled in collaboration strategies. He was a great director and proactively made third-parties and other subcontractors feel included in each project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it was an overall great experience.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would advise clients to try to work directly with the founder. He is the brain of the organization and his services will result in the greatest possible success.

Although the product was never monetized, 212’s direct marketing campaign minimized the cost per call and increased the number of customer calls and site visits. Their deep understanding of the market enabled them to deliver a high-quality, unique product.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the President of PCR Marketing. I’m a consultant in the direct marketing industry who helps clients navigate their direct response campaigns by interacting with strategic media partners. I execute the planning, offer advice, and compile the necessary analytics to get products to market.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

One client sold a topical medical product that clears up lesions and sores for people with diabetic foot pain. One problem was that the client did not have the bona fide clinical studies to make specific claims about the product itself. This is very common when selling products that don’t go through typical FDA approval, so my challenge was to communicate to the marketplace, without evidence or FDA approval, the effectiveness of this particular product. We wanted 212 to help us address this.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Michael (Director, 212 Degrees Fahrenheit) provides everything someone would need to develop an infomercial. He develops the concept and specific message in a creative way, writes the script, hires the production crews and talent, and delivers the finished infomercial to the client. He’s able to execute from creative, strategic, and logistical standpoints.

We produced an entire series that consisted of two to three direct response, short-form infomercials of one and two minutes in length. The two-minute videos were the most effective. Anybody that’s been involved in this industry has a strategic understanding of how to bring a product to market and Mike provided additional guidance from his experience with other types of products. He approached the project from a branding perspective, as opposed to just a “yell and sell.” His goal was to create a commercial that was not only selling a product, but also establishing brand awareness through differentiation.

What is the team composition?

212 had two or three people internally.

How did you come to work with 212 Degrees Fahrenheit?

We met through a mutual connection at a trade show several years ago. I still work with him when the opportunity comes up.

How much have you invested with them?

The price was commensurate with what is normally charged for this kind of work in this industry.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–August of 2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The commercial produced a significant number of responses. It produced a notably lower cost per call than similar products. The response was very high. Backend and other issues unrelated to 212 prevented monetization, which is not uncommon in this industry. In terms of what 212 was hired to do, which was increase phone calls and website visits about the product, they did an excellent job.

The infomercial went beyond what you normally see, and Michael provided something new and different to create a very successful campaign.

How did 212 Degrees Fahrenheit perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very responsive to all of my needs and my client’s needs. Everything was done in a timely manner. I was given full estimates and a calendar (both of which they stuck to throughout the entire process), which incorporated scriptwriting, various production and post-production stages, final editing, and delivery. They went above and beyond for what I contracted them for.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mike’s honesty was really important to me. He took the time to really understand the product, do his homework and research, and understand the market we were trying to reach out to. He understood our goals and what we were trying to accomplish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think not. I continue to work with him because he’s a great producer. He really understands how to combine branding with direct marketing and is a pleasure to work with.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Michael will give you the best possible engagement without you having to ask for it. It’s really just a matter of treating people fairly and understanding that they deserve fair compensation.
