Can you provide a brief description of your company and the role that you play there?
Appsmakerstore is a do-it-yourself mobile app builder for non-tech SOHO [small office, home office], SMBs [small to medium businesses], enterprises, sport clubs, federations, charities and governments for making their own mobile apps on Apple iOS and Android, also allowing a website to be created and synced with social media, such as your Facebook fan page. I'm responsible for partner and customer support, and managing our admin and finance functions.
What was the business challenge your company was facing that initiated the need for this type of platform?
We needed a solution that created marketing campaigns for both our paid and free customers that would give us the ability to see statistics, such as views and clicks. We would then use these insights to create and build more effective future campaigns.
How does your company implement SendGrid?
Our designer creates marketing newsletters and fills in the HTML code to activate the SendGrid newsletter. Thereafter, we create marketing groups that we want each newsletter to reach. For example, sometimes we target all free users or all paid users, and then can segment that by geography.
Was your company considering other platforms? Why SendGrid?
Earlier we were using MailChimp, but decided to use SendGrid as it provides a richer interface, SMTP [simple mail transfer protocol] gateways for sending transactional or marketing emails and also pricing was a little less. As we send many marketing campaigns, price was important for us.
On an annual or monthly basis, how much does your company spend to utilize the platform?
This has varied and has changed as our use of SendGrid has changed.
Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of this platform?
We are able to better target users and have more visibility into our results. That visibility has helped us to increase click-through rates of our campaigns significantly – by 5 to 25 percent.
Were there any software features or tools that really impressed you?
SendGrid's analytics are great.
Looking back, are there any areas of the software upon which you feel could be added or improved?
Not as of yet. However, we have only been using SendGrid for a few months. Implementation was a little less straightforward than we hoped it would be.
Have you had to interact with the platform's support team or reference their support resources?
We have used support a few times and they are good but, in general, the platform is easy to understand once installed.
We have a few quick questions and, for each question, we ask you to rate the software on a scale of one to five, with five being the best. What would you give the software for functionality of the features available?
What would you give the software for ease of use or ease of implementation into your business?
Four. SendGrid requires some technical knowledge.
For support, as in responsiveness of the team or helpfulness of the resources available?
For overall satisfaction with the platform?
How likely are you to recommend the software to a colleague or similar business?
