Experience:

We have multiple employees in different states and needed a company familiar with each state's laws and requirements. We use our payroll service for all employees, whom we pay via direct deposit and for time-off tracking. My office manager and I administer it.

We found this company online about two years ago. For our company size, it cost about $190 per month. We will continue to use Gusto as long as it meets our needs. Customer support is occasionally busy, but they have always been able to answer my questions quickly.

Pros:

They handle all the state tax payments and reporting for us. Since we have employees in 10 states, this would take us a lot of time to manage. They also have a great knowledge base, with step-by-step instructions for when we add employees in new states and have to set up tax info for that new state.

Cons:

I wish they integrated better with our QuickBooks desktop accounting software. But even when we used Intuit's payroll, it wasn't much better.

Recommendations:

If you want an easy to use system, Gusto is it. It's also easy for tax season.

Experience:

It was already used in the company when I started. We need it for tax filing, digital paystubs, employee compensation. It's been alright, can't complain, but it's not amazing either.

Pros:

It has an easy to use interface. Staff is very helpful.

Cons:

I think it doesn't have anything in particular I dislike.
