Could you describe your organization?
We are a banking service intermediary. We work in three fields, which are mortgage, investment, and retirement or pension planning. We’re an intermediary between customers and banks. We have many projects in the banking industry, and it’s very unclear and obscure to the bank customers, so we help them to get the best projects for their current situation.
We have a mutual situation where our role is to have the customer satisfied with each project, where the bank tries to get the most money out of the clients. So, we developed a solution to get the best deal according to each client’s situation. We have one customer-facing interface. We have many branches, and we advise the clients in investment, using the platform to make the recommendation. We also have an interface with the bank, where they can connect and see associated accounts and other important information.

I’m the chief technology officer.
Could you describe the business challenges you were attempting to address when you first approached Django Stars?
We needed additional development support. The solution we had in mind is very complex, and we knew we’d need additional resources in order to maintain a steady development pace, even as we began testing the prototypes. It was kind of a pre-emptive measure.
Could you describe the scope of work in greater detail?
They provide custom development and testing. For that process, we have our own tools to make it easier. We have used many of their tools, too. They’re also very active in the sense of preparing the demo, so I just have to come to the demo, I don’t have to take of anything. They organize everything for us and test it to ensure it’s working properly. We come in and evaluate what they’ve done and provide feedback, and then we continue on. That’s essentially the process.
How did you select Django Stars as your solution partner?
I conducted some online research and reviewed Django Stars along with several other companies around the world. I had a good feeling even when I first contacted them, and I went to Kiev, Ukraine, to meet with them in person. While I was there, they showcased a number of their projects and introduced me to their developers, the same ones that’d be working on our own work. I felt very comfortable with their process and their approach, which ultimately led me to hiring them.
Could you provide a general cost estimate for this project?
It’s very hard to say. In terms of the website, we’ve probably spent around $500,000.
When was the project completed?
We work on an ongoing, full-time basis. We have six or seven people working full time on several projects.
In terms of results, could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback that would demonstrate the effectiveness of their work?
We make a new release every one or two months, so the last release was after two months. In two months, we had 270 new functionalities added, which is very good. We’ve also increased the speed with which we address technical issues reported by end-users. Feedback on their performance from our team has been overwhelmingly positive, which is also a great sign.
When working with Django Stars, is there anything you’d consider unique about their approach or development methodology that distinguish them from other vendors?
I’m very happy with Django Stars. When we agree on something, they always hold up their end of the bargain. I have never had project management issues with them, ever. They’re extremely open and they’re also flexible with our changing requirements. They’re very personable, too, which is an added bonus.
In retrospect, are there areas in which you think they could improve as a service provider?
I would love to be able to scale up in one day like other developers, but it’s something not possible. Maybe in a crazy big company where you have thousands of people, but here it’s a mid-sized company so, sometimes, it can take a bit longer than you’d like. These guys provide very high-quality code, but to have that same quality on a larger scale would be ideal. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about a loss on quality. It’s not necessarily the fairest critique since they may not want to expand beyond their current base.
