Recommendations:

Go ahead and give it a shot. It is a very great quality and the investment was worth it. The install is smooth and support is great.

Experience:

The cost was very important and we were impressed with the security and ease of use. Great customer service came at no extra charge. We use hosting. We have found it is effective for our needs. We also use it for backups. It has great security and was integrated easily. It has done really well for us. We like it a lot. We put it into use quickly and effectively. We like the security features and the support.

Pros:

We love the ease of use. It was easy for us to coordinate the installation. There has not been any downtime and has been very little maintenance.

Cons:

I cannot come up with something that we don't like. It is one of the few purchases that kind of was a no brainier. We would not make changes.

Recommendations:

I would say, thoroughly investigate the hosting package to be sure that what you are choosing fits your needs and that you aren't overbuying. Plan for growth upfront so that your initial setup will grow with you and not overflow and become more difficult to manage over time. If you want separate accounts you can set them up that way, if not then you need to be sure that you understand how to add features or more domains to a single account over time so that you don't create your own problems.

Experience:

I selected 1and1.com initially because they were reviewed and recommended years ago when we first needed our own host. Over time we were pleased with their pricing and gradually added more domains to help us maintain our presence on the Internet. This also solved the problem of managing certain aspects of our applications that had formerly been hosted by the provider hosting our websites themselves, separate from our domains. We had especially been hindered originally by our web host being the admin for our email. We use their domain services, email and both single page websites and URL redirects. Overall we are happy with 1and1.com, they have allowed us more control and flexibility than our previous host arrangements did. This has allowed us to more easily adapt to changes in our business model and customers use of the Internet.

Pros:

Fairly straightforward and upfront pricing. It's great that I can add, delete or change email users in minutes quite easily.

Cons:

The biggest con for us is probably related to growing over time. We have many domains and the contracts are all different - pricing, renewals and included features are all dependent on what we chose at the time. We really need 1and1.com to work with us to simplify and consolidate our contracts and ensure that we have the correct product for each domain and how it's used. So far they have been elusive when approached, albeit only casually on our part.

Recommendations:

I would recommend that people have unlimited emails sent per day and if they can’t afford that I think they should make a membership that includes that a bit and more.

Experience:

It was a majority vote to see how it could benefit the company and get us away from the debt we were almost in. We use the email, contacts, calendars, blacklists, etc. It has benefited our organization a lot in the fact that it help us stay organized and up to date with our orders.

Pros:

I like that it has protection against hackers, that you can do everything in one location and can access and archive your emails at any time.

Cons:

The one thing that is bothering me would be the number of emails we can send a day

Recommendations:

I would make all positive recommendations. It is a reliable system and one that allows people to be much more productive especially when out of office.

Experience:

We contacted some of our coworkers at other businesses to see feedback as to who performed a great service. When all was said and done everyone was saying great things like reliability and cost, and effectiveness of the product. We use remote access to company emails. It has been an asset. It has allowed people to access the emails as well as when system are down pole were still able to receive emails.

Pros:

It is so easy to access and easy to use just like the system we have.

Cons:

I wish it would link back to my commuter at work. It seems like when we retrieve emails they are not remaking on system in-house.

Use the hosting service.

Experience:

My organization’s reason was to get a better product because the recent host wasn't trusted. We use it as a website builder and for emails. It has performed great. It has benefited my organization by making hosting easier to use.

Pros:

It’s very easy to use. You can customize websites

Cons:

Nothing. Cost could be better, though.
