Can you provide a brief description of your company?
BJ Media is a digital marketing agency. We provide strategy to other companies in order to help them rank on Google.
What role do you play there?
I'm the office lead and sales coordinator. I manage our use of Zoho CRM due to that I also manage our use of Zoho Creator.
What was the business challenge your company was facing that initiated the need for this platform?
Zoho Creator is used because Zoho CRM wasn't providing our reps on the road access to forms they could fill out easily. We needed something that was flexible and easy to access real time because our product discounts change and the overall complexity of the product we are selling.
How does your company implement this platform or software?
Zoho Creator offered us an app in the form of a contract that our customers can sign. We use Zoho Creator and Zoho CRM, the two together help with my reporting.
Was your company considering other platforms? Why this platform?
Our company was using Zoho CRM when I began working here. But, they were not using the Creator. When I arrived here four years ago, I was coming from another company that was using a different CRM [customer relationship management tool]. We came to learn that Zoho had an add-on that could help us with our mobile needs. Largely, we use Zoho Creator because of our use of their CRM system, which is perfect because the systems are semi-integrated. We also work with an external consultant for Zoho Creator that helps ensure we utilize all of the tool's capabilities.
On an annual or monthly basis, how much does your company spend to utilize the platform?
I don't have the exact number for you because the fees we receive are aggregated for all of the Zoho tools we use.
Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of this platform?
The fact that we were able to build a custom app that meets are needs is success enough. Now, we don't need to check all the contracts or discounts applied because it's all entered in the application. It makes our representatives' life easier. We've been able to make a dashboard and put the information in our CRM, but it comes from Creator. Our sales director and president are able to follow the activities of our representatives. We are able to see what is happening on the road, and we can now predict the sales for the following month.
Were there any software features or tools that really impressed you?
I love the drag-and-drop features. If I need certain dates, I am able to select them from the menu and build my report easily. It's so easy – it takes five minutes. I'm happy I can create a custom form, and the rep is able put all the info we need into the form. The form was so easy to make because it's drag and drop. There was a bit of code that we needed to put in, but it was also simple. I am able to change the form when our products change quickly.
Looking back, are there any areas of the software upon which you feel could be added or improved?
Sometimes, if we want to pull something that's stored in the CRM and something else that is stored in Zoho Creator to have them included in our report, the tool can be tough to aggregate the data. It's not easy. A user needs to know the platform to be able to do it.
Have you had to interact with the platform's support team or reference their support resources?
We don't interact directly with the Zoho Creator support team, if I have questions I go to our Zoho Creator consultant. It's great we communicate about the tool nearly every day. We have looked for support on the Zoho CRM; so far, the support has been pretty bad. Usually, when I'm asking for something or if I'm having a problem their team doesn't understand my problem, and they are unable to provide a solution. I usually find an answer by going on blogs, and I end up finding a solution by myself.
We have a few quick questions and, for each question, we ask you to rate the software on a scale of one to five, with five being the best. What would you give the software for functionality of the features available?
Four. I've been using it for more than a year. At the beginning, I wasn't sure but, now, that I know how it works and the things I can do with it. If I could have more items integrated from Zoho CRM, it would pretty much be perfect.
What would you give the software for ease of use or ease of implementation into your business?
Three and a half. Using the tool takes some coding knowledge and a steep learning curve. Except for the drag and drop, you need a programmer. You need to know how a code works.
For support, as in responsiveness of the team or helpfulness of the resources available?
Two. We interact mainly with our consultant, but Zoho support has not been good, but they do answer quickly.
For overall satisfaction with the platform?
How likely are you to recommend the software to a colleague or similar business?
Five. Zoho Creator has allowed me to do pretty much everything I need.
