The Review

The client is  Bixlabs , a mobile and web development firm headquartered in Latin America. The client utilizes Telerik to develop applications on behalf of their customers who want to develop mobile apps quickly and efficiently. The client has found Telerik to be particularly useful when developing a "proof of concept" app for their clients. The client highly recommends Telerik for simple, cost-effective apps, but finds the customization and functionality of Telerik apps to be somewhat lacking compared to native apps.

Could you briefly describe your company and what your role and responsibilities are there?

Bixlabs is a software company based in Latin America. We have around 20 developers and primarily work on developing web and mobile applications for our clients.

Who would be an ideal customer for Telerik, or what is the ideal situation where you and your team would choose to implement Telerik?

Telerik is a good fit for customers who are looking to do frequent builds of their apps and are looking to update their app constantly. Telerik allows you more flexibility than native development.

On the flip side, who should avoid using Telerik? What are some situations where it is not a good fit to implement it?

If you are looking to take advantages of all the features and functionality of a smartphone, you are better off developing natively. However, there are situations where it makes sense to develop with Telerik. It helps that Telerik is simple to learn so developers without much experience can start developing quickly.

Could you describe your experience working with Telerik's support resources?

Telerik has a great support team. We contacted them for some questions that we had, and they went above and beyond in their willingness to help. They helped us and taught us how to do some things. I think their support is great.

Is there an example of a success story or some good results that stand out to you with a project where Telerik played a key role and was helpful in delivering a product to a client?

Telerik was a great platform for us to build skeleton or "proof of concept" apps because you can build a nice looking app with many templates quickly. We used this app to show the client what was possible and then ended up building the app in a native version to make sure we got the absolute most functionality out of the app.

What is your favorite feature of Telerik?

I like all the templates that Telerik allows you to use, rather than having to build many different custom templates. Its aspects like this that allows you to save time by developing with Telerik.

In your limited usage of it, have there been any areas for improvement or things that the platform could change to be better?

Cross-platform development tools like Telerik can always improve their deployment and integration abilities with iOS and Android devices. While hybrid apps are useful in certain circumstances, they will never be able to compete with the native versions.

Please rate Telerik on a scale of one to five, with five being the highest. What would you give Telerik for features and functionality?

How would you rate Telerik for ease of use or implementation into your projects?

Five. It was very easy to integrate.

How about for support out of five?

Five. They were great and answered my questions very quickly

How would you rate your overall satisfaction with Telerik?

Five. It was very good. I could not work with all the features they provide. But, the ones that we worked with were great.

How likely would you be to recommend Telerik to a client or a colleague?

Four and a half.
