Solution
Was your company considering other tools? Why Kalipso?
In our projects, we also use Visual Studio. In Visual Studio, we create our WMS [web map service] system, where we have some modules, including a web application.
What is the ideal project to use Kalipso for? Not ideal?
We use Kalipso for multiplatform mobile applications for our customers. Thanks to Kalipso, we can do this very fast.
Results
Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of Kalipso?
We’ve built multiple apps with Kalipso. It took us a few days. We used it in a project in which we had to scan barcodes, and save the data to a database which was later used to print labels. We used a couple of different technologies and Kalipso was able to handle the integration magnificently.
Features
Were there any software features/tools that you were really impressed by?
We tested it with RFID [radio-frequency identification] readers too, and the results were very positive. We have built several apps to scan barcodes, and our clients are very happy.
Looking back, are there any areas of the software that you feel could be added or improved upon?
There are a lot of functionalities in Kalipso. We feel we’ve used only part of them. Now we have the new version (4.0), and we still are learning new features.
Have you had a positive or negative experience utilizing Kalipso’s support resources?
Kalipso's support works very well. We've used it a couple times, and always get answers to our questions, and solutions to our problems.

Solution
What is the technical challenge that Kalipso helps you solve?
We’re using Kalipso to create customized software and to integrate total system solutions. Since the start of work with Kalipso, we’ve improved our realization speed and our project margin dramatically.
Was your company considering other tools? Why Kalipso?
We did also look into MCL and RAPTOOL, but we could not find the power and flexibility that Kalipso offers. For Android, there are some specific tools which fit better in detail but don’t give us the overall flexibility and migration capability like Kalipso does.
What is the ideal project to use Kalipso for? On the other hand what is not an ideal project to use Kalipso?
We cannot find gaps and there seems to be no real borders. Kalipso fits for nearly all markets.
If pressed, I would say that apps similar to web applications are more difficult to create with Kalipso.

Our software revenue has grown 250% over 3 years, and we now take on projects which we would have never thought about being able to handle because we did not have the staff or capabilities.
