About the Customer
Tomasz Pierzchała
Head of Software Development, IBCS Poland

"We've used it [Kalipso's support] a couple times, and always get answers to our questions, and solutions to our problems."

Recommendations:

The user strongly recommends Kalipso for its ease of use and strong integration capabilities. The user found Kalipso to be particularly well-suited for a number of barcode scanner apps they produced.

Background

Introduce your business and what you do there.

IBCS Poland takes on IT projects that facilitate the effectiveness of logistics, warehouse processes, and sales. I am the head of the software department.

Solution

Was your company considering other tools? Why Kalipso?

In our projects, we also use Visual Studio. In Visual Studio, we create our WMS [web map service] system, where we have some modules, including a web application.

What is the ideal project to use Kalipso for? Not ideal?

We use Kalipso for multiplatform mobile applications for our customers. Thanks to Kalipso, we can do this very fast.

Results

Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of Kalipso?

We’ve built multiple apps with Kalipso. It took us a few days. We used it in a project in which we had to scan barcodes, and save the data to a database which was later used to print labels. We used a couple of different technologies and Kalipso was able to handle the integration magnificently.

Features

Were there any software features/tools that you were really impressed by?

We tested it with RFID [radio-frequency identification] readers too, and the results were very positive. We have built several apps to scan barcodes, and our clients are very happy.

Looking back, are there any areas of the software that you feel could be added or improved upon?

There are a lot of functionalities in Kalipso. We feel we’ve used only part of them. Now we have the new version (4.0), and we still are learning new features.

Have you had a positive or negative experience utilizing Kalipso’s support resources?

Kalipso's support works very well. We've used it a couple times, and always get answers to our questions, and solutions to our problems.

About the Customer
Peter Ciolkowski
Engineer, Ident GmbH

"We cannot find gaps and there seems to be no real borders. Kalipso fits for nearly all markets."

Recommendations:

The user recommends using Kalipso for anyone looking for a powerful but flexible mobile app development tool. The SQL backend, the looper feature, and sensor connection were several of the features highlighted by the user as being particularly useful.

Background

Introduce your business and what you do there.

AISCI Ident GmbH has 40 employees in two locations, and is a solution provider and a leading hardware source for the German auto market. Partners are end users but also resellers.

Solution

What is the technical challenge that Kalipso helps you solve?

We’re using Kalipso to create customized software and to integrate total system solutions. Since the start of work with Kalipso, we’ve improved our realization speed and our project margin dramatically.

Was your company considering other tools? Why Kalipso?

We did also look into MCL and RAPTOOL, but we could not find the power and flexibility that Kalipso offers. For Android, there are some specific tools which fit better in detail but don’t give us the overall flexibility and migration capability like Kalipso does.

What is the ideal project to use Kalipso for? On the other hand what is not an ideal project to use Kalipso?

We cannot find gaps and there seems to be no real borders. Kalipso fits for nearly all markets.

If pressed, I would say that apps similar to web applications are more difficult to create with Kalipso.

Results

Can you share any success, metrics, or overall results of your implementation of Kalipso?

Our software revenue has grown 250% over 3 years, and we now take on projects which we would have never thought about being able to handle because we did not have the staff or capabilities.

Features

Were there any software features/tools that you were really impressed by?

We were impressed by the SQL connectivity, looper feature, HTML usage, sensor connection, and design capabilities.

Looking back, are there any areas of the software that you feel could be added or improved upon?

We miss SFTP data transfer, password protected ZIP, and Dropbox up-/download with user credentials.

Have you had a positive or negative experience utilizing Kalipso’s support resources?

The high quality of SYSDEV support service should be a benchmark for others.
